Giftopia: Sample Store Event

Thanks Sample Store for the lovely Giftopia event held at Raffles City. Giftopia is a movement to bring back the joy of sending hand written postcards to our loved ones. Think of those good old days before emails, facebook and whatsapp messages became a norm. What an awesome idea to re-connect and surprise our loved ones!

There were plenty of things to see and do at the Giftopia event. Being a beauty addict, I had a beautiful sunday exploring and discovering various interesting beauty products from Taiwan and other countries. Giftopia is an awesome event whereby the vendors threw in amazing discounts. Well, one basically gets the best of both worlds at Giftopia: a wide variety of beauty products at pocket-friendly prices!

Posted this photo on my instagram which attracted plenty of interest: The door gift from Sample store, which contains a wide assortment of interesting beauty products. I kept wondering why did my Giftopia tote bag smell so sweet until I noticed the Dinobay air fresheners (Strawberry and Bubble Gum) in there (not to mention the really cute packaging :D). The next cute beauty product which caught my attention was Cathydoll Ready 2 White - 2 in 1 Bubble Mousse Cleanser from Karmart. The Cathydoll Lip Smile - Dragon Fruit Vit B Lip Perfume has a sweet bumblegum scent too. The Cathydoll 99% Aloe Vera & Snail - Serum Soothing Gel looks interesting too. There was a pretty pink rose moisturizing essence mask from My Beauty Diary. So happy that my Giftopia bag contained all the sweet smelling pink beauty products.  I'm such a sucker for sweet smelling and pink products.

There was a Vaniday booth at Giftopia, offering express manicure services. Saw a queue at another booth offering temporary ink tattoos. There was also a Singpost booth where mail packaging of various sizes were on sale. There were many booths selling handmade accessories and cute toys and papercrafts too. It was a pity that I had to rush off for other commitments and didn't have time to explore everything.

Review of LPG® 10% Peeling Procedure and Intense Hydrating Smoothing Serum

Thanks Anna and Christine for the kind media invitation to the Official Launch of LPG® Endermologie® Cosmétiques - Face & Body Line at LPG® Endermospa, Ngee Ann City in late October. I have since returned for my trial session of LPG® 10% Peeling Procedure in late December and would like to share with you my experience at LPG® Endermospa, Ngee Ann City.

A little background on LPG® 10% Peeling Procedure:
The LPG® Peel works its magic by exfoliating the skin and boosting cellular regeneration. This superficial peel formula contains 10% acid and is a synergistic blend of glycolic and mandelic acids for optimal anti-ageing results while reducing skin damage risks. Face Endermologie is the only technology capable of natural reactivation of production of skin essentials necessary for youthful-looking skin based on a 2013 Humbert Study: collagen for firmness (+23%*), elastin (+46%*) for suppleness and hyaluronic acid (+80%*) for hydration and re-plumping action.

The therapist first carried out the endermolift on my face which lasted around 20 min and I like the lifting vibrations on my skin. I pointed out my problematic areas to the therapist and she concentrated on my chin area to try to produce a V-shape look. The therapist carried out the treatment on the right side of my face first so that I could compare it to my left. My right face looked visibly much more toned as compared to my left which had not undergone the treatment. Learnt that this treatment stimulates collagen production which can last for about a month. So the recommended frequency of treatment would be around 3-4 weeks lapse in between treatments.

The therapist then applied the 10% acid peel which is a synergistic blend of glycolic and mandelic acids. Those with sensitive skin like myself might experience slight itch on the skin during this 5 min before application of a neutralizer to neutralize the acid. But I'm happy that this treatment is safe and suitable for even people with sensitive skin!

Review of My Third Meridian Session at Slimming 101

It was a cold day so I really appreciate the warm thermal bed which was used for Slimming 101 signature Meridian therapy. I doze off lying on my front while waiting for this signature meridian treatment. The therapist from Slimming 101 educated me that pressing on those pressure points on my lower back just above my tailbone would help to reduce water retention in my kidneys. N pressing those pressure points higher up on my back could reduce fat absorption!! That's very important to me!!

There are some pressure points on my stomach which are to aid in digestion. I find that I usually burp after eating and that's a sign that my digestion is not good. Pressing on the pressure points on the sides of my tummy could help to reduce unnecessary eating!! Again, that's very important for me cos I seem to be always hungry!!

I feel a bit weird when the pressure points were being pressed initially but I got used to it after a while. I was encouraged to drink more water to flush out the toxins and reduce consumption of unhealthy food.

Review of My Second Meridian Treatment at Slimming 101

Love the relaxing lavender scent of the gel that was used in Slimming 101 signature meridian treatment. It seemed more like a relaxing massage session rather than a typical slimming treatment...lol...when the therapist pressed on my meridian points today, i felt lesser pain as compared to my first meridian treatment...hopefully that meant that more fats and toxins have been flushed out of my body since...some of the meridian points on my tummy that the therapist pressed on are to aid in my food digestion...n i felt v.hungry after this session today!

Was at the opening of MAD museum yesterday...i have lost about 1.5 kg till date...do i look better now?

Guess what? It was my birthday yesterday and I didnt expect to bump into the super cute "Godfrey Gao lookalike" hot model, Henrique Fukuoka, there =)

Henrique's so sweet, he said i look better now than at Audi Fashion Festival. I'm so happy to hear that from a cute model! Honestly, if a cute guy says i look prettier...that carries more weight than what any other guys say =)

Review of My First Meridian Treatment and TCM Consultation at Slimming 101

Went down to Slimming 101 for my TCM consultation today. The inhouse TCM doctor first took my pulse on both hands...we chatted a bit about my sleeping habits, diet, lifestyle and sensitive skin...she said that 11pm-3am is the time that our body and kidney rejuvenate so her advice is to sleep before 11pm...but honestly, sleeping before 11pm is quite difficult for me to achieve...it would be good if i can sleep before 1am...cos i only have about 4hrs of sleep on weekdays on busy days although i try to catch up on sleep during the weekends...

I'm supposed to be "pseudo-heaty" (pardon my literal translation) so a little on the heaty side and my body lacks fluids. She's right that i feel thirsty quite easily...honestly, i'm the type who can gulp down a big glass of drink when i'm thirsty...she adviced me to cut down on spicy food (again, not easy cos i love spicy stuff o.O)

I'm quite surprised when she asked if i feel giddy...she could tell that i have a giddiness issue just by taking my pulses o.O well. just a few weeks ago i had a really bad giddy spell...so bad that I was advised by my eye specialist to go for MRI scan on my brain...the tcm doctor said i could be anemic...interesting to learn that anemia is not exclusive to those who have low blood pressure...

She said that it usually means that there's some blockages if there's pain upon pressing the meridian points...i feel pain on more than quite a few meridian points ler...looks like there's a lot of toxins stuck in me! i was then wrapped in plastic and underwent the thermal detox treatment which was done at abt 50 deg C...the idea is to induce sweating to flush out the toxins...i was v.sweaty when i was finally unwrapped....reminds me of my hot yoga class...lol...but it looks like i have lost about 1 kg from this treatment! wow! o.O

Went down for my second slimming session with Slimming101 today. I had the Duo-Advanced Body Define treatment done on my tummy. It's a painful treatment and I lost 0.5cm on my waist this time round. Review of First Duo-Advanced Body Define Slimming Session With Slimming 101

After attending the press conference at Slimming 101 last sunday, I went down for my first slimming session today. I first sat in the sauna for about 10 min before my first treatment today. The temperature went up to about 52 deg C. I tried a combination of ultrasound as well as ultra cavitation with Duo-Advanced Body Define machine in this 20 min session.

Duo-Advanced Body Define treatment is non-invasive and is a good alternative to liposuction. It helps to reduce localized fats and cellulite. It bursts the body fats and aids in firming. It is also very effective for tightening of loose skin and the results can be seen in an hour.

I could feel the slight warmth sensation from the probe but it's so comfortable that I could almost doze off. There was also beeping sounds from the machine which was an indication of fat detection and that the machine was working real hard to burst these fats. The sounds became louder when the therapist was doing the cavitation treatment on my tummy, which is an indication of the high fat level there. I can still feel a warm sensation in my tummy area even hours after this painless treatment so I think it’s still working hours after the treatment. N I feel hungry after the treatment…omg, I seem to be always hungry eh? =(

After this Duo-Advanced Body Define treatment, I'm pleasantly surprised that I lost about 2cm on my waist. I weighed myself and found that i lost half kg too. My Leechie mum has this warped logic that I should lose 2 cm for every session. Lol. Well, Let's see how it goes...

Press Conference of Slimming 101

At the press conference of Slimming 101, we were shown around the slimming centre and introduced to the various slimming equipments and facilities. The consultant, Lynn, did a demo slimming session on Vivien and we could see how the slimming actually start to take effect within the very first slimming session itself. She did demo with the duo-advanced body define treatment as well as the signature meridian therapy.

Duo-Advanced Body Define is a good treatment to reduce localised cellulite and fats and for overall body volume toning due to retention of water. It can give sustainable results and can reduce cellulite areas up till 2 cm per treatment.
