Rebirth of PPP Laser Clinic to NOVU Medical Aesthetic Clinic

Was at the press conference to understand more about the rebranding. Terence Loh and Nelson Loh came onboard the management team in February 2016 to restructure PPP Laser Clinic and NOVU held its official brand evolution ceremony at Raffles City on 19th November 2016. The name NOVU was conceived to mark the rebirth and development of PPP Laser Clinic. The NOVU 360 Solution is a holistic treatment tailored for a range of skin conditions based on the concept of 3Cs: Colour, Consistency and Contour. The NOVU 360 Solution encompasses five different treatments to rejuvenate and add radiance to the skin:

1. P+ PHYTO LASER & RADIANCE LIGHT

This 2-in-1 deep-cleansing skin rejuvenation treatment combines a non-ablative intensive laser treatment to rejuvenate skin in the epidermis and upper dermis, and a shower of polychromatic broad spectrum light pulses of energy to give a healthy glow to the skin. This first step deep cleanses the pores, disperses melanin, controls oil glands to aid acne recovery and stimulates new collagen growth.

2. FL - PIXELCLEAR

This non-invasive treatment creates tiny pixels on the skin surface to selectively pushes out dead cells and triggers production of collagen to repair skin while retexturizing and smoothening skin surface. This second step repairs beneath the skin to enhance tightness and elasticity, removes superficial epidermal pigmentation, reduces pore size, lightens acne scars and reduces appearance of facial lines and wrinkles.

3. CR - CELLUWEAVE (Lunch Time Face Lift)

This treatment targets the collagen layer of the skin: it gently heats and stimulates collagen renewal, resulting in skin and muscle tone tightening, and reduces facial lines and wrinkles.

4. RF - FIBROTAUT

Radio frequency is delivered to the facial skin to target the upper dermis and epidermis of the skin. This step immediately lifts and tightens lax and saggy skin, while increasing oxygen delivery and toxin clearance to reduce effects of aging, achieving an overall youthful complexion and reduces depth of wrinkles.

5. Ion Infusion with Hydrating H.A. or SHIRO Whitening

NOVU laser treatments increases permeability of skin by creating micro-holes and allows deep penetration of serums for better results. So Ion Infusion with Hyaluronic Acid (HA) or SHIRO treatment is recommended immediately after laser as a cooling and relaxing treatment to plump, hydrate and improve skin suppleness.

Tried out this new NOVU 360 solution treatment earlier in July when I returned from my Taiwan trip. I had a consultation with the medical director, Dr. Ho, regarding my skin's key concerns before Dr. Sau did the treatments for me. She first did the P+ laser which is great for whitening and brightening of skin tone before the collagen remodelling laser to reduce my dynamic wrinkles. The therapist did radio-frquency to contour my face before Dr. Sau did fractional laser for my uneven skin texture. The therapist then finished off with ion fusion with HA.

 

Previously I didn't dare to do fractional laser cos I have very sensitive skin which can be rather prone to possible post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. But now that I'm being reassured that the power of this fractional laser is low, I know that I'm in safe hands. Happy to notice that my pores look more refined after the treatment. And the effect of the radio-frequency treatment is immediate too! My face looks more lifted! And I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't much redness on my skin and so there wasn't much downtime. Most of the redness, if any, went away by the very next day.

I'm glad that when I look into the mirror now, I find that my laugh lines are visibly less obvious. I'm really happy to have done the NOVU 360 solution treatment as it gives me a more refreshed look! Honestly, there are many people who mistook me for a fresh graduate. When I tell people that I'm an obasan, some people thought that I'm 27. I'm no longer in my 20s and I take it as a compliment that I look much younger than my actual age. I'm still amused whenever I go to the hospital to see the eye specialists, I get the nurses calling out Madam when they saw my nric. Once I stood in front of them, they would quickly apologise and address me as Miss. There's a famous saying that there are no ugly women, only lazy ones. I'm still 100% natural and haven't had any plastic surgery done. I'm just an obasan who is working hard to defy aging and anything that can help me is greatly appreciated! Giftopia: Sample Store Event

Thanks Sample Store for the lovely Giftopia event held at Raffles City. Giftopia is a movement to bring back the joy of sending hand written postcards to our loved ones. Think of those good old days before emails, facebook and whatsapp messages became a norm. What an awesome idea to re-connect and surprise our loved ones!

Being a beauty addict, I had a beautiful sunday exploring and discovering various interesting beauty products from Taiwan and other countries. Giftopia is an awesome event whereby the vendors threw in amazing discounts. Well, one basically gets the best of both worlds at Giftopia: a wide variety of beauty products at pocket-friendly prices!

Posted this photo on my instagram which attracted plenty of interest: The door gift from Sample store, which contains a wide assortment of interesting beauty products. I kept wondering why did my Giftopia tote bag smell so sweet until I noticed the Dinobay air fresheners (Strawberry and Bubble Gum) in there (not to mention the really cute packaging :D). The next cute beauty product which caught my attention was Cathydoll Ready 2 White - 2 in 1 Bubble Mousse Cleanser from Karmart. There was a Vaniday booth at Giftopia, offering express manicure services. Saw a queue at another booth offering temporary ink tattoos. There was also a Singpost booth where mail packaging of various sizes were on sale. There were many booths selling handmade accessories and cute toys and papercrafts too. It was a pity that I had to rush off for other commitments and didn't have time to explore everything.

Thanks Joanna for the kind invitation to try out facial services at Body Contour Premier salon. I visited the Body Contour Premier outlet at RB Capital Building (22 Malacca Street Level 5), which is just next to Raffles Place mrt station.

I had diamond peel done previously at another salon at Ion Orchard which increased the sensitivity of my skin so I'm more careful with facials these days. But I'm in safe hands at Body Contour Premier salons where all the consultants and therapists are very experienced with various types of facial treatments. The consultant first analysed my skin before recommending the new Murad Youth Regain Facial which is suitable for my sensitive skin.

She was careful to do only pressure point massage so as not to trigger any sensitive reaction. The facial treatment was completed with a mask.

Thank you Body Contour Premier for a most relaxing facial. I like the Dr. Murad products used during the facial treatment and of course, the effective results produced. My skin is decongested and clearer after this treatment. And I'm pleasantly surprised that my skin is not red after the facial and there is no peeling at all (which unfortunately happened at times after other facials done elsewhere). Appreciate the attention to details on the part of the therapist.

Application:

Derma Regenerating Treatment Cream can be applied directly to the face and neck area after toner both in the day and night. This treatment cream is to be applied evenly with up and outward circular movements until it is fully absorbed. Due to the presence of AHAs in the ingredients, it's recommended to start usage on alternate days first before progressing to daily application. Some tingling and minimal stinging sensations may be experienced by sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin but this product works fine for me and I only experience slight tingling sensation. Broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 should be applied during the day. I like how Derma Regenerating Treatment Cream contains Vitamin E, which enhances the effectiveness of any sunblock that is subsequently applied in the day. Retinol in the product helps to protect the skin from free radical damage. I like the silky smooth texture of this cream and it's easily absorbed by my skin. My skin looks smoother and brighter after application of this cream. This product helps to reduce wrinkles and I notice that my fine lines also look less obvious too.

Vital Cellular Repair Serum is to be used after Derma Regenerating Treatment Cream both in the day and night. This serum is to be applied with up and outward circular movement until it is fully absorbed. I like the light citrus scent of this serum. The texture of the serum is light and non-oily and is easily absorbed by the skin. This serum can be used by all skin types and is a great radiance booster. It can repair skin cells, regenerate tissues and promote wound healing while replenishing moisture as well as to lighten skin tone and tighten large pores. My skin feels more hydrated and looks brighter after application. My skin tone looks more even and fairer even though I'm already very fair to begin with.

Review of LPG® 10% Peeling Procedure and Intense Hydrating Smoothing Serum

Thanks Anna and Christine for the kind media invitation to the Official Launch of LPG® Endermologie® Cosmétiques - Face & Body Line at LPG® Endermospa, Ngee Ann City in late October. I have since returned for my trial session of LPG® 10% Peeling Procedure in late December and would like to share with you my experience at LPG® Endermospa, Ngee Ann City.

A little background on LPG® 10% Peeling Procedure:
The LPG® Peel works its magic by exfoliating the skin and boosting cellular regeneration. This superficial peel formula contains 10% acid and is a synergistic blend of glycolic and mandelic acids for optimal anti-ageing results while reducing skin damage risks. Face Endermologie is the only technology capable of natural reactivation of production of skin essentials necessary for youthful-looking skin based on a 2013 Humbert Study: collagen for firmness (+23%*), elastin (+46%*) for suppleness and hyaluronic acid (+80%*) for hydration and re-plumping action.

The therapist first carried out the endermolift on my face which lasted around 20 min and I like the lifting vibrations on my skin. I pointed out my problematic areas to the therapist and she concentrated on my chin area to try to produce a V-shape look. The therapist carried out the treatment on the right side of my face first so that I could compare it to my left. My right face looked visibly much more toned as compared to my left which had not undergone the treatment. Learnt that this treatment stimulates collagen production which can last for about a month. So the recommended frequency of treatment would be around 3-4 weeks lapse in between treatments.

The therapist then applied the 10% acid peel which is a synergistic blend of glycolic and mandelic acids. Those with sensitive skin like myself might experience slight itch on the skin during this 5 min before application of a neutralizer to neutralize the acid. But I'm happy that this treatment is safe and suitable for even people with sensitive skin!

I'm a fan of facial serums cos serums usually contain the highest concentration of potent ingredients and are lighter in texture than moisurizers and facial creams. By the way, I wore a Minions tee without any makeup the other day and someone thought I'm a kid. She only realized that I could at best be at kid at heart when she saw my age on the form. I usually get mistaken for being a student by the staff at the registration booth at some events. Think it's what Adrian n Sherwin would term as "the Dracula effect" (as Draculas don't age). Lol.
