This show featured the debut of contemporary Singaporean womenswear label Ong Shunmugan's Cruise 2016 collection at Singapore Fashion Week 2015. Designer Priscilla Shunmugam presented her modern rework of familiar influences, traditional textile techniques, colours and silhouettes. This was the first all-Asian show in the history of Singapore Fashion Week. 28 looks were showcased by 17 Asian models recruited from various countries such as China, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. The former lawyer's Cruise 2016 collection was inspired by the designer's study of the history of the socio-political evolution during the Japanese Occupation in South-east Asia. There were soooo many gorgeous outfits on showcase!
I have always been intrigued by the designer's clever use of rather contrasting fabrics in a contemporary manner while retaining a certain cultural element to these modern designs. I certainly love the contemporary silhouettes created in various interesting textiles sourced from across South-east Asia and especially those kimono-inspired pieces and obi-belts. Notice how all the models sashayed down the runway in white canvas shoes for this showcase? Ong Shunmugam's designs are so timeless and yet look great with just simple white canvas shoes! And I like the hair done for this show: hair being blown and volumized before being swept to one side. L'Oreal Professionnel is the official sponsor of Singapore Fashion Week 2015. Find the petroleum-green winged-tip Nars eye makeup on the models interesting. Appreciate the relatively relaxed pace of this show which allowed me to capture many photos of the models in their various looks from my second row seat. Thanks Ong Shunmugam for the pair of tickets to this sold-out show. Both my mum and I enjoyed the show very much.
This navy blue number is another one of my favourites from Ong Shunmugam Cruise 2016 Collection: timeless chic. Check out the interesting modern "hyper-extended" collar wrap details and flattering flare sleeves.

Love the shiny fabric used for this contemporary kimono style dress which gave it a luxe feel
Love the sweet pink top and the interesting mix of colours. Check out the unusual mix of lace details on the skirt!
This sweet pink 2-piece outfit is sweet yet exudes subtle sexiness simultaneously.
Interesting folds on the pants coupled with unique prints seen. I'm not a prints person but these prints do appeal to me.
Similar design but in a stylish colour contrast.
Like the cute kimono-style outfit on the extreme right, which comes in a blue and white colour combination as well (third from the right).
