Fashion Steps Out 2014

Orchard Road was transformed into the longest runway featuring 150 models! It was really cool to see models appearing on Harley Davidson's and vintage scooters with cute flower-helmed models, as well as rollerbladers and a silver street-artist...

The 9 fashion brands being showcased at this year's Fashion Steps Out include: Aimer, Ashley Isham, David Koma, Depression, I.T., Manish Arora, Max&Co., Robinsons and The Reckless Shop

It was really cool to personally walk down this stretch of Orchard Road to the media seats facing Paragon...there were huge crowds lining both sides of the road, jostling for a spot to be part of one of the biggest fashion events on Orchard Road...i love the classy designs from David Koma...and I'm always impressed with Ashley Isham's workmanship and designs...Aimer certainly sizzled up the night with their hot models sashaying down this longest runway in their sexy swimsuits to the beat of pulsating music...

Soft Launch Party of Life Is Beautiful

Pleased to be invited to the soft launch party of Life Is Beautiful, one of the latest restaurant bar offerings at the stylish Duxton area which is now peppered with many restaurants and bars...When I first received the invite, I thought to myself, what an interesting name...it reminded me of the 1997 Oscar-winning Italian comedy-drama film of the same name...

This restaurant is located at the corner of the road at 99 Duxton Road...and blur leechie almost missed it but the bouncer noticed me as I walked pass and asked if I was looking for Life Is Beautiful...I arrived rather early and was waiting for other friends...but the bartender was friendly and chatted with me when he spotted me trying out a fried frog leg...i love frog legs but this was the first time that I tried fried frog leg...i like how it was crispy...the bartender here also makes nice refreshing vodka cocktail which is mixed with lime and cucumber juice...the restaurant has crafted some unique and exotic menu...Pardon me for sounding like a bimbo, leechie has always associated alligators with handbags and shoes...n this was the first time that I tried alligator meat served with alligator sauce! Really exotic manz! I like their fresh oysters with absinthe...n their fried chicken wings were served with very hot and spicy sauce...i love spicy stuff so i can appreciate the hot sauce...If you wanna try exotic menu, I highly recommend Life Is Beautiful! Dinner starts from 6pm onwards and the venue is transformed into a dance club from 10pm onwards...

A wide variety of liquors displayed at the bar counter...

Life is Beautiful opens as a restaurant at 6pm and by 10pm, it's transformed into a club

Fresh oysters with absinthe...thumbs up

Tasso dusted frog legs, my favorite dish of the night...really yummy!

Exclusive Launch Party of The New Limited Edition Jimmy Choo Exotic

Thanks Luxasia for the lovely invitation to the exclusive launch party of the new limited edition Jimmy Choo Exotic. This party has 2 elements which r close to my heart: fragrance and manicure =] I believe that a good fragrance can instantly transform one's mood and I always feel naked if my nails r without a manicure ;p

This exotic limited edition is a sexy twist which is inspired by the python shoes and accessories created by Jimmy Choo Fashion. Even the texturized outer packaging has been worked scale by scale to reproduce the perfect look and feel of real python skin. This fruity fragrance blends top notes of blackcurrant sorbet & pink grapefruit with heart note of Passion flower and bottom notes of raspberry & Indonesian Patchouli. I love the resulting exotic yet captivating fruity floral scent!

Jimmy Choo is a luxury brand which is famous for her signature heels and leather bags, so some frenz seem to b rather surprised that Jimmy Choo does have her own fragrance line too...i'm happy to share with my blog followers what i know abt Jimmy Choo fragrances...in fact, fragrance is a big business and I would think that most luxury houses wouldn't wanna miss out on such a revenue generator ;p frenz were inquiring abt the price tag for this limited edition fragrance...the eau de toilette 100 ml bottle retails for $145 while the 60 ml version retails for $112...well, what i told them was, "price is what u pay but experience with the scent is what you will get" B-)

Limited edition Jimmy Choo Exotic. Check out my lovely gellish python skin nail art manicure done at the launch party!

Dato' Joey Yap's Fengshui and Astrology for Wood Horse Year 2014

Yeah, right, no typo...now we have to address him as Dato' Joey Yap ler...n i'm always amused by those ppl who googled my blog to check if he's married or has a gf...pls ask him directly when u see him in person ya, leechie doesnt have the answer for u here ;p i arrived just in time before the commencement of this year's talk...i'm impressed by how fast he answered the questions from the audience based on Qi Men Dun Jia...n i found out later that he's the only one who does Qi Men Dun Jia consultations at his company o.O

Dato' Joey mentioned abt connecting the dots in life...how he took english literature when he was in sch n how he's an author now...i took english literature in sch too but that was my worst subject in sch...i can appreciate and love the literary works but when it came to tests n exams...an english literature teacher from New Zealand put this remark on my script, "clumsy"...but now, i appreciate the english literature classes that i took...i may not use loud or descriptive words to try to impress anyone...but after reading some blogs with plenty of grammatical errors (apparently those bloggers r unaware of their mistakes and still think that their English is flawless...lol), i'm glad that i can write with sincerity and fluency and there ain't any major issues with my grammar...btw, i attended a writing workshop recently and the presenter from British Council stressed on the importance of clear and concise writing...

It's a really nice gesture of Dato' Joey to arrange for the 2 extended sessions and to fly back to Singapore for these sessions...i attended the second extended session...and during the coffee break, i saw how he was trying to help some lady with her questions abt her life...well, i could sense his sincerity in trying to help...n also found out why he had to wear glasses...btw, he was musing abt how his makeup artist implemented his fengshui technique and within a week, a Dato' proposed to her n now he has no makeup artist! o.O n i attended the recent workshops on Activating Nobleman and Power Dates but i must admit that i'm rather disappointed that Dato' Joey was not here to conduct the workshops in person =(

Check out the huge crowd...saw on fb that they had to add seats to cater for more ppl...abt 2800 pax in total... o.O

So many ppl tried to squeeze into this room for Dato' Joey's preview, which Dato' Joey later described as "from wall to wall" o.O

Me? Well, leechie was standing near the screen...n that was Dato' Joey's PA squatting down next to the laptop

At the autograph session...

Dato' Joey was featured in the chinese media o.O

Now Dato' Joey has a new name stamp with "Dato' Joey Yap" on it o.O

I was seated at the front row of Dato' Joey Yap's Fengshui & Astrology 2014 extended session

Can u find a leechie in this pic? ;p
