Greed Is Good? ;p

Watched "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" with a group of frenz juz now...i was practically crying throughout the movie...quite glad tt i was sitting right at the back n not many ppl saw me ;p

Although i haven't seen the original Wall Street 1980s movie...but this one was based on the recent financial crisis...some of the scenes reminded me of the pain tt silly leechie went thru...ouchie :'( i can still rem the nite when DJ dropped >500pts!!! i was online when i received this msn from a fren who informed me abt the huge drop n asked me to go check on the mkts...gosh, tt actually tiggered my urticaria rashes to recur...crapz...soon, hives started appearing all over my back! -.-" but this was nothing compared to the emotional turmoil tt i went thru! Mkts were free-falling in what appeared to b a bottomless pit then...how low is low when almost everything was dropping day after day???!!! n many big names started to announce really, really bad news...those names tt we all thought were "too big to fail" went under -.-" "merrily leech" was considered to be a powderful broke-age house ya @.@" my former trader fren told me tt "bear s" was one of the most powderful houses around...along with a few other illustrious names...reminded me of those toxic products tt were so cleverly engineered...i bet many ppl were studying those acronyms during the crisis...n lou's suicide reminded me of how many ppl muz had harbored suicidal thoughts then...haiz =.=" but Gordon Gekko's so damn stylo in this movie!

Check out Gordon Gekko's famous saying ;p

Some interesting lines from the movie:

"Insanity...which is doing the same things over n over again in the same manner n expecting different results!"

"Bulls n bears make money, only pigs get slaughtered!"

"Idealist vs capitalist vs realist"???

N my v.own leechie line --->
"Dont call me materialistic...i'm purely capitalistic!!!" ;p

Updates:

I called up DontBullShit bank n the silly phone operator couldnt answer my questions n put me on hold for so damn long...n she still couldnt answer my questions after tt -.-" but when i posted my same questions on the forum, i got a reply almost immediately!!! =.=" internet rocks!

High IQ kid chose a normal life...the media denounced him as a “failed genius” but he has no idea why his life, which he considers a success, had to be called a failure. “People expected me to become a high-ranking official in the government or a big company, but I don’t think just because I chose not to become the expected it gives anyone a right to call anyone’s life a failure,” he said.

Btw, saw this interesting quote:
"U just need to distance yourself from people. If they care, they will notice & will be bothered. If they don't, move on."
Sad but how true...som ppl juz aint worth it...not now...n not in the future! =.=" Move on...n make space for som others who r worth it!!!

Leechie attended a great talk by a MIT alumni who covered "acquisition for start-ups"...juz wanna share a related discussion with a fb fren here --->

A: "So, the main question: what good acquisition can bring to startup? Investments from parent company, distribution channels (of parent company), legal cover (again from parent company). Negative: loosing independence, total control from paren...t company, at the end all innovation made by startup can be even killed as a project, and start-up employees can be fired. So, is it worth for startup to be acquired? Depends on situation. If your startup has a successful product or idea, which already have customer demand - then there's no point for startup to be acquired."

A: "Tono, I'd also like to add that the best startups are the startups created by Family (Husband and Wife): Husband is a CTO and Wife is a CEO (Husband reports to his Wife ;) ). It also makes their Love and Family stronger."

Leechie: "hmmm...tt's ideal in the perfect world...but there r lotsa complications once divorce sets in...u once shared common vision...common goals...working for the common good of ur family...but everythg becomes complicated once there is a divorce......lol...happened to know ppl who r in this situation...n i always wonder...r they still able to face each other professionally after divorce?can they work together as well as a team after the divorce?or would they hate each other to the core?hmmm,i'm thinking abt this scenario...2 good frenz start a biz together...they could b really good platonic frenz...then along the way...they fell in love with other ppl...it would b really great if they remain as great partners...but would their respective partners complicate the biz? o.O there is this case here (one of the famous brands here...think it made it into the international scene) whereby the 2 lovers closed down the biz after they broke up...i guess tt won't b the last..."

Leechie: "lol...i guess fidelity aint a criteria for owning a biz together for their case n divorce would b the perfect ending? ;p
but the brand example tt i quoted was a couple tt broke up...think they were not married then...i guess tt happens pretty often...guess most ppl wouldnt wanna work together so closely with their ex-es after the relationship had ended...o.O""

A: "Tono, see what majority of economists can't realize till now is that morale and economy are very connected with each other. Do you know what is the REAL reason of the current economic crysis? Immorality. If the couple wants to break up and destroy their startup instead of growing it together - then whose fault is that? Just couple's fault."

Leechie: "hmmm...there r 2 isolated examples here...for the brand case...i guess they fell in love n built up their brand together...but then along the way, they fell out of love with each other...then found it impossible to work together with each o...ther anymore?which is y they closed down the brand n went separate directions?but cant really blame them for tt...cos many ppl find it hard to work closely with their ex-es after the relationship had ended...cos "working together for their common good" doesnt seem to b tt applicable anymore ya? o.O" the love is no longer there...only the biz...if tt's the case, wouldnt it b better tt everythg is more biz-oriented in the v.first place?n tt breakup scenario might b somthg tt all potential couples wanting to start their biz together b somthg tt they might wanna consider first even before starting? o.O"

A: "Tono, they didn't get together/married in order to build startup. But they build startup afterwards because they want to do something together - as a couple."

Leechie: "yup...but the thg is...they fell outta love subsquently n the brand juz fell apart...the brand is not complete without either of them..."

Leechie: "there could b hundreds of reasons y they fell outta love...the stress from building a successful international brand could b one of them...i'm juz speculating...so what i'm saying is...love is love...biz is biz...wouldnt it b better for these 2 entirely different things not to b mixed together?or tt certain exit strategy b planned right from the start?juz my leechie opinion only...o.O"

Leechie: "well, most ppl dont get married in the v.first place to think of divorce as a possible ending...do they? o.O
but divorce is getting more n more common these days...n i was juz telling my leechie mum tt the kind of love between our MM Lee n his recently deceased wife is really rare n almost extinct in today's society...sad but how true...of course, we hope tt the kind of love tt we experience will b eternal...but the divorce statistics r obviously telling us a different thing...no offence..."

A: "Again - that "common" divorce thing means that the immorality is at full power now which sooner or later bring the end to human society. Innovation, technologies, economy can't grow or be developed in the society where divorce is a "common" thing."

Btw, to keep u amused ->
Yest, the security guard saw me walking around the barriers n shouted at me...i quickly went up the com bus...he then ran up the bus n shouted at me at the top of his voice juz like a madman...everyone on the bus could hear his verbal abuse...the guys at the back were all laughing...pity tt i didnt film it down to share on u-tube...he reminded me of the recent clip of tt woman on MRT! he claimed tt i went under the barriers...excuse me...i'm not so stupid to walk below the barriers so i corrected him tt i went around the barriers...he got angry n ranted on n on abt how if some car were to knock me down n if i kenna killed, he doesnt want to b held responsible for it...i told him tt i already checked tt there was no traffic before crossing...he got even angrier n barked at me like a madman...n said tt he's going to complain to this n tt...then all the guys at the back were laughing o.O"

I really feel threatened tt we have such security ppl who is not the least bit concerned abt our welfare n who is only worried abt being held responsible if we kenna killed n who goes around verbally abusing ppl when he is pissed! who knows if he's mentally stable? so scarry manz! o.O" I bet it would turn out differently if i were not a short gal but a tall n huge n muscular man flashing my biceps at him! -.-" kenna bullied cos i ignored him n walked on...then he ran all the way up the bus to verbally abuse me over a trivial matter! =.="

Guess what? tt yaya security guard was holding a camera while he walked past me twice...i could even see the lens of his camera!!!think he's secretly trying to film me!!!i feel damn threatened by his antics!!! -.-" n he's behaving so damn yaya as if he owns the entire place...strange tt his office is the guard house n not some CEO office eh? -.-"

Some security guard bully only lurves to bully ppl...n bullies r usually some pathetic souls who suffer fr lotsa insecurity issues...really pathetic...letting others win in silly argument aint a sign of weakness...it's sympathy on our part...such ppl r in need of psychiatric help. btw, halloween is coming...mayb these pathetic souls juz wanna make their presence felt...but i'll juz treat it as background noise...lol...btw, do u see the oxymoron here? security having insecurity issues? lol ;p

Gosh...this yaya security guard's attitude was totally 180 degree different when another senior male muscular colleague committed the same offence the following week!!! he went up the com bus n talked to him nicely n even said pls...crapz!!! gender discrimination? but another colleague commented tt the sample size is too small to conclude his actions as gender discrimination! but what i'm damn sure is this yaya security guard is picking on me!!! -.-"

*** D&D 2010 ***

As touched up by Jeff n he titled it "Beautiful Princess" =)

The theme for this year's D&D was Shanghai Nite...n it was held at a Chinese restaurant...gosh...i didnt know what i gonna wear to the D&D manz...cos cheongsam would b the last thing tt i could imagine myself wearing =.=" i even contemplated wearing a kimono there...lol ;p but i already wore a pretty pink kimono to D&D a few years ago when the theme was International Nite o.O

So leechie pop ovr to Chinatown...hoping to find some hip cheongsam-inspired clothes to suit the theme o.O well, i found a red halter top cheongsam top n called my leechie mum...she was like ---> "In red? gosh, dont they have some other colors? u'll end up looking like a waitress if u were to wear this red cheongsam top!" so a leechie put back the red halter cheongsam top...there were plenty of other traditional cheongsam dresses n tops...stuff tt i could nvr imagine myself wearing =.=" hmmm, i was walking around...browsing thru lotsa cheongsam stuff...until i saw this blue cheongsam top with gold trimmings...hmmm, then a light bulb lit up in my leechie head...in a split second...i knew what i gonna wear to D&D...lol ;p

So leechie wore this blue cheongsam top with short denim skirt n lace leggings with knee boots to d&d ;p btw, some american stylist said tt leechie resembles a japanese clown on wed...well, i would rather be clownish than boring =.=" at least, i'm the one n only leechie...i'm unique...it's ur problem if u have a problem with that...not mine =.="

Btw, wanna guess the cost of my cheongsam top? ;p guesses from my fb frenz ranged from $9.90 to $500...o.O but the price tag of this cheongsam top is only $4.90! sounds unbelievable ya? but tt's the actual price ;p hmmm, sometimes it isnt so much abt the price of the clothes...but more of the person wearing it ya? ;p btw, here's a fb fren's response after finding out the actual cost of my cheongsam top ->
"Way to go, leechie
The trick is to know where to buy at ridiculously low prices and look like a million letting others think you pay an astronomical sum!"

My leechie mum actually thot i'm going clubbing after d&d n asked me to bring my ID card with me...juz in case tt they dont allow me into the clubs cos i look underaged...but leechie aint feeling well n clubbing's not on my agenda tonite =.=" but think i can pass of as the door bitch of some clubs with my dressing tonite...lol o.O" guess i could only say tt i attracted attention not only at my function...but on my way there too =.=" noticed some guys staring at me -.-" but i'm not wearing anything too revealing...it's juz fusion dressing...perhaps might b more appropriate for clubbing...or what the door bitch might wear...lol ;p but some of the door bitches r v.casually dressed these days...hmmm, but i dont really dress up when i go to clubs these days cos some clubs r abit "not too dressy" ya...esp the crowds there...u get what i mean ya ;p

Didnt book any appointment with any hair salons...so i juz rushed ovr to a nearby salon to get my leechie hair blown before D&D...well, i told tt stylist tt i was running late n told him to hurry up...but he still took more than 50min to blow my hair...could see tt he was trying v.hard to make it look nice...yet my hair was still flat at the back...sometimes, abit of talent is still required for certain stuff ya =.="

Didnt win any lucky draw prizes this yr...juz realized how silly i was...when i turned up late for the D&D, the events mgmt ppl directed me inside...saying tt everything was already inside...so i didnt even register n didnt even put in my lucky draw coupon...how to win anything when my lucky draw coupon wasn't even inside the lucky draw box in the v.first place? =.=" won't b leeched next yr! -.-"

N the best-dressed awards for ladies went to those wearing traditional cheongsam dresses...guess fusion-dressing wasn't appreciated much ya =.=" leechie had 3 glasses of red wine & 2 beers n i could still walk in a straight line...German sup declared tt he's drunk after 7 or 8 beers, otherwise i would have drank with him...lol ;p n he left rather early with a group...but oktoberfest is coming soon...so perhaps he's reserving some drinking space for tt? ;p

It was an entertaining nite with the indian host (he intro himself as a punjabi) o.O i gotta say tt his hokkien really sounded like Phua Chu Kang...lol ;p there were some stage performances from some ladies from Shanghai (for a minute, i actually thot i was at lunar...lol ;p) hmmm, i didn't even see the magician who was supposed to perform some magic tricks at each table making his appearance at our table even though our table was juz next to the vip tables...or was tt supposed to b some disappearing act? -.-" oops, think i drank some acid instead of water again ;p anyway, it might b better if more budget was reserved for f&b n lucky draw prizes than for the hired stage performances (which seemed to signal loo-break for many ppl) n magician =.=" n towards the end of the nite...the funny host got my colleagues to sing in chinese, hokkien, thai, tamil, indonesian n german...but didnt hear any japanese songs ya (maybe he was told not to poke fun of the vips? ;p)

Btw, someone placed her lv bag (which looks so suspiciously fako) on my seat juz before i came in for d&d...n again on sat nite, someone placed her bag on my seat before i came into the cinema...if their bags r soooooooo freaking exp n deserve a seat...y not juz keep them in the bank safe? it would b far safer n more secure tt way ya ;p

Btw, almost everyone knows leechie fav color is pink ya ;p but not sure y i'm into blues these days o.O i'm v.happy with my navy blue kate spade renwick street...as well as my navy blue milkfed bag (gwp from a japanese mag)...n i still have a pretty denim color prada wristlet which i have yet to use...lol ;p

Posted on fb tt "someone asked me yest if leechie is a tai-tai...she said i look like one o.O" well, i wouldnt need to slog so hard if i were one ya =.=" do i really look like a tai-tai? o.O"" n here r some of the responses to my fb posting:

"You look like one with a long fur coat

BIllionaires In The Making!!!

Some american stylist said tt leechie resembles a japanese clown...well, i would rather be clownish than boring =.=" at least, i'm the one n only leechie...i'm unique...it's ur problem if u have a problem with that...not mine =.="

Btw, letting others win in an argument aint a sign of weakness...it can mean alot of things...such as maturity...or simply "cant b bothered" or have better things to do...lol...use ur imagination ya...lol ;p but sometimes the words tt ppl use can reveal alot abt them o.O

Came across this interesting article on Yahoo Finance ;p (http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/110811/billionaires-in-the-making?mod=career-leadership)

Check out all these v.sexy guys...keke ;p

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This elite group of tech moguls, hedge-funders, athletes and entertainers are hovering under billionaire status with a strong chance of breaking into the Forbes 400 ranks this decade.

There's making it big. Then there's making the Forbes 400. From Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to Steve Jobs and Nike's Phil Knight, our annual list of the richest people in America is home to icons of technology, investing and industry, with a entry level of $1 billion to make it on the list. It's an elite group, but it's hardly permanent.

Thanks to death and declining fortune, this year 34 members of the 2009 edition were off the list. And over time business cycles and the radical reshaping of the economy lead to even more tectonic shifts. In 1982 the total net worth of the Forbes 400 was $127 billion, with energy fortunes representing 21.6% of the total. This year the total net worth of the list was $1.4 trillion, and finance and investments led the way, responsible for 25.5%.

[Click here to check savings products and rates in your area.]

So who's waiting in the wings? Based on our research, we see 15 people as likely candidates to breach the billion-dollar barrier in the coming years. Call it the Forbes 400 Farm Team. On it are some of the biggest names in entertainment, sports' most branded athletes and businessmen on the brink of making it very big. This elite group of tech moguls, hedge-funders, athletes and entertainers is hovering under billionaire status with a strong chance of breaking into the Forbes 400 ranks this decade, including some well-known names such as Jay-Z, Jerry Seinfeld, Tiger Woods and James Cameron.

Jerry Seinfeld, with an estimated net worth of $800 million, is a very likely bet. His TV show about nothing has earned $2.7 billion in 12 years and could take in $200 million more a year, thanks to syndication payments. Seinfeld has spent some of his portion buying up New York real estate and has a four-car garage (in Manhattan!) for his fleet of vintage motors. The cash-rich star may need another hit: The Marriage Ref wasn't it.

Another likely candidate is producer Jerry Bruckheimer, worth $850 million. The Hollywood producer's blockbuster franchises, like Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure, have generated $9 billion at the global box office, with more to come. TV hits include the CSI franchise, Without a Trace and Amazing Race. Director James Cameron moved a lot closer with the release of Avatar, which earned $2.7 billion at the box office and is the bestselling Blu-ray disc of all time. His older films, including Titanic, have earned a combined $3 billion. We estimate his current net worth at $650 million.

[See The Millionaire's Retirement Plan]

With $450 million and a career trajectory aimed right at the sky, we expect Jay-Z could make the list one day as well. Jay-Z has elevated hip-hop to rock arenas, packing ballparks with Eminem this summer. If he keeps selling out monster shows, money will rain down on all his ventures: the Roc Nation label, a back catalog (ownership reverts to him in 2014), Rocawear clothing royalties, a stake in the New Jersey Nets. He'll score nicely if a suitor buys Carol's Daughter, a hot beauty care line backed by Jay-Z and other celebs. He and wife Beyonce Knowles may already be music's first billion-dollar couple.

From sports we see two very familiar names: Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, each worth $500 million, as likely list members one day soon. Jordan, the former Chicago Bulls wonder, earned $90 million in salary during his playing career. Most of his fortune now derives from endorsement deals with his biggest sponsor, Nike ( NKE - News); he raised his stake in the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats to 80% this year.

Woods' fortune took a beating his year. His agents, the tax man and recently divorced wife Elin Nordegren have all gotten pieces of his $130 million in career prize money and $900 million in revenue from endorsements, appearance fees and golf course design business since 1996. But he will make it to 10 figures if he starts winning again and sponsors return.

The fastest-rising member of this year's 400 was 26-year-old Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who's net worth sprung from $2 billion last year to $6.9 billion this year. Other social media mavens will likely follow his path in the years ahead. Sean Parker, cofounder of Napster ( NAPS - News) and Plaxo, was the Silicon Valley veteran who joined Facebook in 2004 as its founding president and helped it navigate initial funding. He left in 2005 for venture capital but still has a 4% stake, pushing his net worth to $920 million.

Right behind him at $850 million is Mark Pincus, the love-him-or-hate-him leader of Internet's most popular gaming site, Zynga, named for his late bulldog. Pincus' fourth startup, it grosses some $500 million from virtual goods and promotions with 7-Eleven, Target ( TGT - News) and MTV. "FarmVille," "FrontierVille" and "Zynga Poker" are its most popular games, and it's worth an estimated $5 billion right now.

Then there's Reid Hoffman. A former executive at Apple ( AAPL - News) and PayPal, Hoffman cofounded LinkedIn in 2003; networking site started making money three years later and now has 75 million users; about half its members are outside the U.S. Tiger Global Management bought 1% of the firm in July, valuing it at $2 billion. Hoffman's estimated worth: $340 million.

SEAN PARKER

Facebook

Estimated net worth: $920 million

Cofounder of Napster and Plaxo, Parker was the Silicon Valley veteran who joined Facebook in 2004 as its founding president and helped it navigate initial funding. He left in 2005 for venture capital but still has a 4% stake. Justin Timberlake plays Parker in the upcoming film "The Social Network."

MARK PINCUS

Zynga

Estimated net worth: $850 million

Love-him-or-hate-him leader of Internet's most popular gaming site, Zynga, named for his late bulldog. Pincus' fourth startup, it grosses some $500 million from virtual goods and promotions with 7-Eleven, Target, MTV. "FarmVille," "FrontierVille" and "Zynga Poker" are its most popular games.

JERRY BRUCKHEIMER

Movies, TV

Estimated net worth: $850 million

The Hollywood producer's blockbuster franchises, like "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "National Treasure", have generated $9 billion at the global box office, with more to come. TV hits include the "CSI" franchise, "Without a Trace" and "Amazing Race."

JERRY SEINFELD

Television

Estimated net worth: $800 million

His TV show about nothing has earned $2.7 billion in 12 years and could take in $200 million more a year, thanks to syndication payments. Seinfeld has spent some of his portion buying up New York real estate and has a four-car garage (in Manhattan!) for his fleet of vintage motors. The cash-rich star may need another hit: "The Marriage Ref" wasn't it.

ERIC LEFKOFSKY

Groupon

Estimated net worth: $750 million

Chicago investor is cofounder and 30% owner of the fastest-growing company ever, Web phenom Groupon, which updates its online audience about deep discounts on products and services. His venture fund, Lightbank, has stakes in 11 companies, including two now public ones: Innerworkings and Echo Global Logistics. As for being outed as an almost-billionaire: "It's a good thing and a bad thing."

WILLIAM ACKMAN

Hedge Fund

Estimated net worth: $700 million

Ackman may get control of Manhattan's giant apartment complex Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village. His Pershing Square Capital Management, with a partner, picked up $300 million of its junior debt and launched a foreclosure proceeding, but they may get beaten out by more senior creditors. A judge is set to rule soon. Whatever happens, the hedge fund tycoon has raised his profile.

DENNIS GILLINGS

Quintiles

Estimated net worth: $700 million

Gillings founded privately held Quintiles, to which the drug industry outsources clinical trials. With $2.8 billion in annual revenue, it is the largest and most influential company in its field.

RAY R. IRANI

Occidental Petroleum

Estimated net worth: $700 million

Angrier shareholders will cheer when Irani, the third-highest-paid U.S. CEO of the past decade, sets a future retirement date this fall. He'll still get paid like a prince for years. Irani's $600 million in Oxy shares could benefit from a potential 1-billion-barrel find near Bakersfield, Calif., and high oil prices.

Joey Yap's "Design Your Destiny" Day 1

Leechie was really excited to attend the first day of "Design Your Destiny", courtesy of mr. Joey Yap! =) it was the first time tt i heard him speak live n he was really humorous n engaging =D went to shake his hands too...but didnt get the chance to get his autograph ler o.O" this gonna sound abit gossipy but was discussing with a fren abt his youthful looks...then i tried to google for his age...but without muchie success though...only found out tt he started learning fengshui from the age of 15...wow!!! o.O

This seminar was held at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre...it was my first time there...but all the road closures for F1 surrounding MBS drove me nuts -.-" had to walk a long distance under the baking sun to get to the venue =.=" but this convention centre is really v.nice =) i've been to quite a few convention centres here for seminars n i would rate MBS convention centre at the top of my list =) i lurve the bling bling crystal lightning there...lol ;p

Learnt many useful concepts...learnt more abt my personality n character too...the analysis is supposed to provide clues to ur character, career n wealth, relationships n happiness n the roles tt u should play...was really surprised to see Kacey there as well =) he finds the analysis pretty accurate...n sad to say, he knows tt leechie has a tendency of being late for stuff...lol ;p btw, one of joey's helpers (the young guy in bright pink shirt n black blazer...really sorry tt i forgot his name) was really v.helpful n helped me to understand more abt myself...abt y i need to b involved in so many stuff...lol ;p i find the day master part pretty accurate...so bought a few of Joey Yap's books on day master n structures n basic profiles...but i'm rather confused abt the structures n basic profiles...gotta read up more n learn more...not sure if there r alot of overlaps between the different types? o.O"

Btw, i dont mind sharing this here...i learnt tt the type of guys tt i'm attracted to muz b the "CHARMING" type... charming not only in terms of looks, but also in every aspect ya...so guys, turn on ur charm ya ;p btw, no offence to anyone...boring guys bore a leechie =.=" btw, he also mentioned tt soulmates r those ppl who happened to meet at the right time and place n shared a common destiny! o.O

Btw, joey said tt there could b parents or mentors or influential ppl or certain events tt happened early in some successful ppl's lives to allow them to discover their talents at a relatively young age...then i started to think of those frenz who learnt music or painting at a relatively young age...n thought abt my own leechie life...well, i learnt to shop at a relatively young age...so i'm a damn proficient shopper now...keke ;p btw, someone juz asked me if i'm a tai-tai the other day...she said tt leechie looks like a tai-tai o.O well, i wouldn't need to slog so hard if i were a tai-tai ya o.O perhaps leechie juz has a face tt says "spend $$$"? =.="

Was telling my leechie mum tt modern fengshui masters wear suits to conduct seminars nowadays...n talked abt shaping your destiny through your thoughts, decisions n actions instead of juz asking u to buy this n tt fengshui cures to place here n there ya? ;p in contrast to a certain famous fengshui mistress who highly encouraged her fans n students to buy lotsa fengshui cures each time o.O" n my leechie mum was really happy tt leechie didnt go home with any fengshui cures after the seminar ;p

Also learnt abt the importance of networking in my life =) time to b a social butterfly ya? ;p btw, veronica's aim for leechie this year is to network such tt i get invited into the private circles of those really exclusive private parties...lol ;p btw, we pop by AX launch party at MBS...but werent too impressed by the organizers there o.O" then we went to the Chanel boutique at MBS...rested at this nice sofa in the cosmetics section while the friendly sales assistant from South Africa served us...when i asked him what items r exclusive to this outlet, he replied cheekily "ME" lol ;p

No offence to anyone...was having this discussion abt fate n destiny...many ppl r of the opinion tt fate n destiny cant b changed...my take on this is -> we know for a fact tt our ultimate fate n destiny in life is death...if tt's the case, then those ppl might as well juz lie inside the coffin n wait for death since they think tt they cant change their fate n destiny ya? o.O"

Btw, saw this damn good quote ---> "If you accept that this is your “reality” or your fate for that matter, then in all likelihood, your life has already ended!"

N here's a quote for those who still think tt one should resign to one's destiny,
“I think there are only two roads that I can choose in my life. One is to give up which would lead to a hopeless death. The other is to live life wonderfully. Nobody says that to play a piano, one can only use his hands.” ~ Liu Wei
what Merry said really makes perfect sense ---> "Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well."
N Liu Wei is thankful for his perfect pair of feet!!!

Browsed thru joey's blog n saw some interesting stuff...look at his reply to a client ---> "What truly changes your life are your decisions, thoughts, actions and wisdom. If you knew what the mole indicates on your face, and subsequently proceed to make changes through your thoughts, action, decision and wisdom – you will change the outcome. You can shape your destiny. With or without the mole."
Joey has some v.interesting views which i really like =) i gotta say tt leechie has been "charmed" ler...n i might start to develop a crush on him soon...lol @.@"

Quote of the day from Joey Yap --->
‎"Who you are is the greatest asset you'll ever possess. As long as you can uncover and recognize this valuable asset, increase it, enhance it, perfect it and believe in it ... good fortune will follow."

Nice charming nite view of MBS as seen from the rooftop bar Lantern at Fullerton Bay Hotel, where we went after the previous movie event =)

Check out the romantic ambience of the rooftop bar Lantern at Fullerton Bay Hotel...there is also a swimming pool there (not captured in my pics) o.O

Joey on the path of least resistance n achieving wealth young! =)

The One That Got Away

Came across this meaningful article tt i wanna share with all of u...gotta clarify tt i didnt write this article...cos some blog followers thought tt i'm the one who wrote it o.O

The One That Got Away

In your life, you'll make note of a lot of people.
Ones with whom you shared something special, ones who will always mean something.

There's the one you first kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the one you put on a pedestal, the one you're with... and the one that got away.

Who is the one that got away? I guess it's that person with who everything was great, everything was perfect, but the timing was just wrong.

There was no fault in the person, there was no flaw in the chemistry, but the cards just didn't fall the right way, I suppose.

I believe in the fact that ending up with someone, finding a longtime partner that is, does not lie merely in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with the matter of timing.

It has to do with you being ready to settle down and commit to someone in a way that goes beyond the little niceties of giddy romance. How often have you gone through it without even realizing it?

When you're not ready to commit in that mature manner, it doesn't matter who you're with, it just doesn't work. Small problems become big; inconsequentials become dealbreakers simply because you're not ready and it shows.

It's not that you and the person you're with are no good; it's just that it's not yet right, and little things become the flashpoint of that fact.

Then one day you're ready. You really are. And when this happens you'll be ready to settle down with someone. He or she may not be the most perfect, they might not be the brightest star of romance to ever have burned in your life, but it'll work because you're ready.

It'll work because it's the right time and you'll make it work. And it'll make sense, it really will.

So that day comes when you're finally making sense of things, and you find yourself to be a different person. Things are different, your approach is different, you finally understand who you are and what you want, and you've become ready because the time has truly arrived.

And mind you, there's no telling when this day will come.

Hopefully you're single but you could be in a long-term relationship, you could be married with three kids, it doesn't matter. All you know is that you've changed, and for some reason, the one that got away, is the first person you think about.

You'll think about them because you'll wonder, "What if they were here today?" You'll wonder, "What if we were together now, with me as I am and not as I was?" That's what the one that got away is.

The biggest "WHAT IF?" you'll have in your life.

If you're married, you'll just have to accept the fact that the one that got away, got away. Believe me, no matter how fairy tale you think your marriage is, this can happen to the best of us.

But hopefully you're mature enough to realize that you're already with the one you're with and this is just another test of your commitment, one which will just strengthen your marriage when you get past it.

Sure, you'll think about him/her every so often, but it's alright. It's never nice to live with a "might have been," but it happens.

Maybe the one that got away is the one who's already married. In which case it's the same thing. You just have to accept and know that your memories of that person will probably bring a nice little smile to your lips in the future when you're old and gray and reminiscing.

But if neither of that is the case, then it's different. What do you do if it's not yet too late?

Simple...find him, find her. Because the very existence of a "one that got away" means that you'll always wonder, what if you got that one?
Ask him out to coffee, ask her out to a movie, it doesn't matter if you've dropped in from out of nowhere.

You'd be surprised, you just might be "the one that got away" as well for the person who is your "the one that got away."

You might drop in from out of nowhere and it won't make a difference.

If the timing is finally right, it'll all just fall into place somehow and you know, I'm thinking, it would be a great feeling, in the end, to be able to say to someone, "Hey you, you're the one that almost got away."

Amused with these pics tt i saw ;p

Leechie Musings:

Some guys' lies r insulting my intelligence...mayb they r too used to dating dumbo bimbos? -.-"

How can u trust a person who has been lying to u right from the start? -.-" som ppl thought tt they r professional liars n no one could telling tt they r lying...well, there r juz too many loopholes in those webs of lies...but i'm too smartie for him ler =.=" someone who isnt worth it today wont b worth it 1 yr or 10 yrs from now! so let the other lady suffer bah...lol ;p n guess what? i found out somthg today which i think i shldnt...juz based on my brains...amused...lol ;p really glad tt what i figured out falls perfectly in place n i'm spared of all possible future tortures =)
thx all my lucky stars tt i'm spared of all those possible crappy scenarios!!! my deepest condolences for the unfortunate other lady...lol ;p

Saw rod's fb status "All I want is to find a nice person to hang out with until I drop dead. Not a lot to ask." me too...i also wanna someone to hang out with until i drop dead...n i'm not asking a lot ya =.= i'm juz a simple gal who wanna b loved by a simple guy...tt's all...simple right? but y is it tt such a simple thing can b so hard eh? haiz =.=

Btw, saw this interesting comment abt men n unfaithfulness ---> "this lady commented on how "if man can be trusted for faithfulness. Pigs can climb trees" n her male friend actually praised her smart" o.O" lol...faithfulness...is this supposed to b such a rare virtue these days? =.= "Never lie to e person u love. U might think lying will protect them from harm but when they know e truth, u r e one who harm them most." everyone likes to look at pretty objects...but the thing is there's a distinct difference between appreciation n taking action to hav affairs -.-" hmmm, can we still hav the confidence to trust someone who has been unfaithful previously? =.= trust is a fragile thing...there r many guys with roving eyes these days -.-" although past performance is not indicative of future performance...but past indiscretion left a BIG question mark over the future? -.-" there r many things in life which r so unpredictable...maybe someone can tell u tt he'll be faithful...but how can he guarantee tt? some guys juz love to love many women...perhaps these many women can help to mask any insecurity issues tt they may hav? =.=

N i was thinking abt jeff's comments --->
"To My Friends Who Are STILL HOLDING ON
A sad thing about life is when you meet someone and fall in love, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be, and that you have wasted years on someone who wasn't worth it. If that person doesnt worth it now, it's not going to be worth it a year or 10 years from now." sad fact but how true...haiz...

"男人不坏,女人不爱" is tt y nice gals r atttracted to bad boys? my bro is under the impression tt leechie kenna "gong tao" or some charm n asks y am i attracted to bad boys instead of nerdy, geeky types? -.-"

"現在我對你很好、很好、很好,你不需要、你無所謂、你不在乎,你不珍惜,

當某天,你被傷害,想起我,你就會明白了。"

Rem tt "Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option"!!!

Gotta rem ---> "Leaving you was probably the biggest mistake they will ever make. Let them dwell on it, you move on!" n "I can find a partner who will appreciate me the way I am and stop wasting time on a doomed relationship."

V.sensible advice from J. ---> "people are in general selfish. that should include you and me. so make yourself happy. if you are happy being with someone nothing else matters. if you're not, it's time to move on. i guess it's harder to move on if you have nothing to move on to.. but given your active social life i doubt that is the case. the world is your oyster as they say. but lying is a character flaw, no man or woman should have to succumb to it."

An example of a tacky pickup line ---> "Hi leechie
I am yr cousin lychee" =.="

Btw, i met a guy using a pink color mobile phone...n he actually offered it to me...v.much to my amusement o.O" i was wearing a pretty pink dress n he said tt leechie looks like a cosplay-er! o.O think there r many guys interested in cosplay these days eh? o.O

"Love is when you shed a tear and still want him, it's when he ignores you and you still love him, it's when he loves another girl but you still smile and say I'm happy for you, when all you really do is cry."
y am i so silly to put myself thru all these tortures? -.-"

V.practical advice ---> "Time is what you see on your watch. It's not medicine and it can't heal anything. You can however, try to move on and let new experiences replace the old ones. Do not listen to cliche quotes as they serves absolutely no purpose except false hopes and detachment from reality."
Let's move on ---> Next please! Next in the queue please!

"幸福是靠自己去爭取的~不管是友情或愛情~~錯過了就沒有了..." but "有些事情你现在不必问,有些人你永远不必等..." haiz -.-"

Dont call me materialistic...i'm purely capitalistic!!! ;p

Dont say tt i'm high maintenance...it's juz tt everyone's definitions of luxury n basic necesities r different! o.O"

Some american stylist said tt leechie resembles a japanese clown...well, i would rather be clownish than boring =.=" at least, i'm the one n only leechie...i'm unique...it's ur problem if u have a problem with that...not mine =.="

Som ppl dont even bother to look at themselves in the mirrors first before criticizing others...lol...for some stuff, there is always plastic surgery...but for some stuff...even the best plastic surgeons cant help...lol ;p oops...did i say the wrong thing? gosh...i think leechie drank some acid juz now...lol ;p

Update:

Thanks Daniel tt leechie could make it to the Loreal Private sales! this is the first time tt leechie has been to one! lotsa good deals there...keke...spent $400+ there yest...n i sneaked in near closing again today to grab some stuff...thx the nice n pretty lady cashier for waiting for a leechie =) spent another $100+...i managed to get some YSL powder foundation, mascaras, eyeliner, lippie, loose powder, brush, etc...lancome kabuki brush...a few bottles of LRP sunblock (this was the main thing tt i was looking for in this sale...so i was really happy to be able to get them...keke ;p)...vichy anti-aging essence (was told tt the price markdown is alot)...skinceuticals serum...LRP hair tonic...Redken all curls shampoo...Keratase masks, leave-in conditioner, shampoos in sample size (the first time tt i've seen the sample sizes at Loreal sales...v.cutie o.O)...Keratase hair brush...Shu Uemura eyeshadow stick...didnt manage to get any Kiehl's products though cos i wasnt sure what to get...happy with all my purchases =) thx all the loreal staff for being so helpful n their kind recommendations of lotsa gd stuff n great deals there! =)

Btw, leechie also went to Luxasia sales late last month...plenty of good deals there =) spent abt $700 there...n my fren spent $1.8k in less than an hour! o.O but i still prefer last year's sale venue...cos there wasnt any air-con this time round n all the different brands were all scattered all ovr the place...v.hard to look for the individual brands...n many stuff were already sold out by the time i found the brands tt i'm interested in...esp rmk n ipsa =.=" i wanted to get rmk loose powder...but there was none when i got there...actually v.few rmk items were left...likewise for ipsa -.-" but i got quite alot of lancaster stuff...esp skincare n cosmetics =) btw, i bot sjp's covet fragrance...a v.small n cute 15ml bottle...initially, i was thinking tt i wanna others to covet what i have...but now, i'm asking myself...even if others covet what i have...would i still be happy? how to be truly happy? o.O
