F1 Sky Grande Prix Party at The Empire

Thanks Clozette for the kind invitation to F1 Sky Grande Prix party at The Empire. It was a night of fabulous fashion show and party at level 45 with great views of the F1 tracks as well as awesome night scenery from the balcony. With great company of course =) Was quite surprised that the crowd at The Empire came in quite early, perhaps due to its excellent location at Raffles Place? I was at another event before this and arrived just before 10 pm. We had a table in the open air at the balcony and were quite glad that the haze had cleared quite a bit after the rain. The fashion show by Vanilla Luxury commenced just before midnight and jazzed up the party. It was a night of beautiful fashion and great crowd coupled with pulsating music and awesome views of the F1 track. Thanks Clozette once again for the lovely invitation =)

This was the awesome view of the F1 tracks that I was getting from The Empire.
Tried asking the staff, "My friend has a table at the balcony near the entrance. Any idea where is it?" And he was like, "It's a balcony all around" lol

Photo of the F1 tracks that my friend took from The Empire, with editing done by yours truly

One of the styles from the Vanilla Luxury fashion show at Sky Grande Prix F1 party. Love the bling bling on the head-dress and chain details on the dress. Photo taken by friend, with editing done by yours truly.

Another interesting style featured at Vanilla Luxury fashion show at Sky Grande Prix. Enchanting head-dress paired with elegant white outfit. Again, photo was taken by friend, with editing done by yours truly.

Table situation at the Vanilla Luxury fashion party at Sky Grande Prix at The Empire: I already had 5 glasses of Moet champagne at another event prior to this and I could hardly drink from this bottle and I later gave all my drink coupons to a friend.

I've attended a few F1 parties over this F1 weekend so will collate most of the photos from this weekend into this post...my health have been affected by the haze and not sure why I felt giddy and had headaches while shopping so I decided it was better for me to stay away from the buzzing crowds on some days...

I love the night views of the F1 tracks and it's always nice to see the tracks from somewhere really high. Guess those with homes and offices next to the F1 tracks are really blessed and you could even hold your own private F1 parties away from the crowds ;p I was at the F1 party at Zafferano last year and went to the parties at The Empire and Altimate this year. You could compare the awesome views of the F1 tracks from both venues from my photos posted here. I stay not too far from the F1 tracks and I used to be able to hear the roaring engines from my place a few years ago before they changed the racing route.

Johnnie Walker Altimate Circuit Party on friday night, and apologies for looking so tired in the photo cos that was my third event of the night

Another photo with the Johnnie Walker models at Altimate Circuit Party

Awesome view of the F1 tracks from Altimate

Check out the reflection of the Johnnie Walker logo in this photo captured by my friend. Well, I just adjusted the lighting and contrast of this picture. Somehow looking down at the huge crowd of people at the Padang concert kinda reminded me of those Workers' Party rallies not too long ago...well, I prefer to watch from a distance at times...

Thanks The Podium Lounge and sponsors for the door gift at The Posh Pitstop for ladies to freshen up before the commencement of the night activities.

Pre race cocktails at Ritz Carlton...yummy tiramisu

The Body Coach Live in Singapore!

Thanks Sapient Nitro for this lovely event during which the guests could meet The Body Coach, Joe, live in person here in Singapore. A crowd of ladies were very enthusiastic about meeting this hunk. Thanks Selvafoods and Wander Wine for the awesome Acai berry and wines served during the event. Appreciate the healthy food and drinks served during the event. I even had the opportunity to mix my own juices, courtesy of @DailyJuiceSG.

Ladies were going gaga over how gorgeous Joe is. Heard some ladies telling him to stay good-looking like this. Btw, check out those biceps! o.O

Joe just won over more ladies with his tears when he was asked about his mum during the Q&A session. Appreciate the British host for his sense of dry wit and sense of humor.

Me being me, wouldn't miss out on a selfie opportunity with the very buff Joe

Bustling scene during the event

A closeup of the yummy Acai berry served by Selvafoods during the event...it was sooo good that I asked for a second serving ;p

Awesome Acai berry from Selvafoods and wines from Wander Wine served at the event. The Acai berry tasted just like ice cream without the cream! Unfortunately, I have developed an intolerance towards the cream from ice cream recently and started to puke after eating ice cream so this Acai berry is perfect for me!

Food trays at the event

A flatlay of: @dailyjuicesg that I mixed myself at The Body Coach event, freshly baked cookies from Dorothy Perkins event, soothing and mattifying primers courtesy of Makeup Forever Singapore, bling bling Topshop socks from Zalora x Topshop media launch party, limited edition SG50 scent from popup by Allsense (the company that does the scents for Ion Orchard) and my DIY bracelets from Luxasia Balmain event.

Topshop X Zalora Media Launch Party at Deck

Thanks Zalora for the invites to Topshop x Zalora media launch party at DECK on thursday night. I have been to Deck on a couple of occasions previously for art events. Brought along my Japanese friend along with me to this party and we certainly had plenty of fun =) Was engrossed with the really cool Topshop x Zalora Virtual Reality 360 degrees google cardboard whereby we had a sneak preview of Topshop/Topman's new arrivals on Zalora! Great music was coupled with awesome atmosphere at this happening party! The tequila beers with blinking lights from Desperados were a pleasant surprise! We had the opportunity to try a few specialty cocktails from Belvedere Vodka at their popup bar too. And the taco and brownies served by The Travelling Cow just tasted sooo good =)

Sharing a moment with the lovely Hanli Hoefer who was the host of this event. Love her pink hair!

Checking out the uber cool Topshop x Zalora Virtual Reality 360 degrees google cardboard! This is really cool! One could basically get a 360 degrees view of a dressing room fitted with rows of the latest apparels from Topshop/Topman available on Zalora. Well, it felt as if I had been transported into an entirely different dimension o.O

Well, I was pretty much engrossed with what I saw on Topshop x Zalora Virtual Reality 360 degrees google cardboard!

And the snazzy headphones are from Sony

Enjoying Belvedere Vodka Specialty Cosmopolitan cocktails

My casual OOTD for the event

What blink blink surprise from Desperados which is totally dope! My friend simply loves this drink and he discovered that we could actually adjust the light's blinking rate =)

Yummy dishes served by The Travelling Cow at the Zalora x Topshop media launch party: Teriyaki burger, beef taco and chilli crab nachos paired with Tequila beer from Desperados.

Love the chewy yet not too sweet brownie served by The Travelling Cow

Thanks Zalora for the lovely evening and door gift. Now I have a cool Zalora brolly to keep myself dry on rainy days, snazzy Topshop/Topman shades to shield myself from sunny rays, bling Topshop socks, Desperados lanyard and Google cardboard VR glasses in a handy Topshop shopping tote bag. I certainly look forward to shopping for Topshop apparels on www.zalora.sg with the gift card =)

Thanks Zalora once again for the lovely event!

Update:

The deliveryman came with my Topshop shopping haul from Zalora...love these chic ballets flats with leopard prints =)

GE 2015: Vote For The A Team

What I understood abt GE2015 based on what others say:
Most of the ppl who vote for the men in white are usually those who are rich.
Most of the ppl who vote for opposition are those who are younger or poorer.

My 2 cents observations about General Elections 2015:

Some of the existing ministers are personal friends of the wealthy n it's not surprising if anyone were to vote for your own friends. Many wealthy ppl would prefer stability n would prefer for things not to change cos they don't know what new changes some opposition might bring. Many businessmen don't support the minimum wage suggestion that some opposition is trying to propose so guess the opposition might have lost some votes there. Somehow in our practical society, at the end of the day, it could boil down to $$$ n what's in it for me.

Some younger citizens would prefer change. N those who get left behind further n further n trying to keep up with the rising costs of living vote for the opposition with the hope that something could be done to improve their lives. Some could just be frustrated with the daily issues n inconveniences so they vote for the opposition. N there's always a group of ppl who will definitely vote for the opposition for the sake of opposing, no matter what. Lol.

Change would be good, if it's for the better...and personally I feel that empathy and the ability to connect with people are really important qualities...cos at the end of the day, most citizens would want to have MPs who can help them to voice their concerns in Parliament and to help to improve their quality of lives...so it's quite sad that some candidates who have been living a privileged life might be pretty out of touch with the struggles and harsh reality that some poorer citizens who are left behind as a society progresses are facing in their daily lives...

What I feel is that I would always want an A Team. N it really depends on which area you stay in, cos clearly the quality of the opposition varies from area to area. So the A team may or may not be the opposition in your area. So I believe it would be wiser to vote for the Better team in your area whom you believe can better serve u n your GRC =) anyway, you and your GRC would be the ones who have to live with this decision for the next few years ya ;p anyway, no names mentioned, but some of the candidates really look n speak like jokers...n i seriously wouldn't wanna be associated with such jokers =.= For me, it's always about the A team =)

If you can guess which parties the rich n those at the other end of the spectrum are gonna vote for, then guess it's the votes of the sandwiched class which could make a difference...

And I have friends who are based overseas who have flown back to Singapore just to immerse themselves in this election fever...truly Singaporean ya =) thumbs up for the Singapore spirit!

Disclaimer: This is not a political blog and this posting is not to induce anyone to vote for any political party. My observations are just my observations...you have the final decision over your vote and I respect your decision. And I didn't state any allegiance to any particular political party, except that I want the best for Singapore and will support the A team and hope that the Better team in each GRC wins =)

Charisma is extremely important in politics n in life...to gain more supporters n followers...some leaders n social media personas are so charming online n in real life...n i can understand why they are so popular...people can forget what you say...but they will never forget how you treat them and how you make them feel...sincerity n authenticity r always valued...at least, i pride on these values over hype...but i guess not everyone thinks likewise in this virtual world...but i always respect other differing opinions =) Not too sure if there are many fashion n beauty bloggers out there who can write convincingly on politics too ;p

Workers' Party's rally situation at Simei just now. It's party carnival atmosphere here and what you see in this photo ain't ants!

Took this photo from the 6th level of a nearby flat while enjoying the great breeze here. I'm honestly getting a headache from the huge crowd here.

Me being me obviously had to walk into the huge crowd to soak in the carnival atmosphere. But yours truly is vertically challenged and such situation don't work to my favor. But I see plenty of people who came here prepared with their stools and chairs.

Photo with one of the most good-looking MPs in early August when I happened to walk past their LKY event in Tampines. Mr. Baey Yam Keng used to be my MP in Tanjong Pagar GRC. Sorry eh, I don't stay in Tampines and can't vote for you. Btw, the same Remembering Lee Kuan Yew exhibition is coming to Tanjong Pagar Community Club very soon =)

I happened to walk past this huge tent in Tampines in early August when someone asked me to join the queue. So me being minion Bob joined the queue out of curiosity. When I shook the Minister's hands, he asked me which block I'm staying at? So me being me, was like: "Block? I don't stay here. I'm from Tanjong Pagar GRC. I happened to walk past" =)

Selfie with Minister Mr. Lim Swee Say at an NTUC event last year and we were told to address him as "Brother" that evening...I was quite surprised and thought there would be plenty of security everywhere but not so...

Saw photos of long queues of people queuing to buy these SG50 commemorative notes, so thought it's really cool that my dad got these notes at the bank on the first day of the launch without queuing at all. The banker just asked him to take a seat before bringing the notes out to him =)

Happened to see this speech...it's pure charisma...honestly, no offence, but I think Dr. Chee Soon Juan would stand a better chance at SMC instead of GRC...You need an A team to win GRC...

I was listening to this while lying on my bed...then i started crying n crying...watch it!

This is unrelated to my post but thought that I will just leave you with the lovely images that I took at the recent Singapore Night Festival...this scene looks like a page from a fairytale...so dreamy n surreal...

This is a nofilter, unedited photo that I took with fairies floating around above me...see those fairydust? how surreal it feels...

The performance in front of SAM...i'm vertically challenged n there were so many ppl who stood in the crowd, holding up all sorts of phones n cameras on selfie sticks n I had to delete away most of the photos taken when I could see almost nothing except their big big screens in my photos
